About Me

Personal Statement

Sharon Spiers is a designer and maker of contemporary jewellery. Her emerging work combines, a desire to celebrate traditional methods of making and the ways in which these can be incorporated with technological processes. Her work is driven by a passion for experimenting with raw materials and challenging the limits of their appropriation in the design and making process. Subtle narratives feature in Sharon's work. These narratives have been developed in response to, personal, cultural, social, and political events. They aim to stimulate inquiry from both the observer and wearer. Her creative practice and research focus are within Applied Art.
