INFLUENCES & INSPIRATION 

Themes of, emotion, reaction, reveal, and contain are incorporated in the body of work titled 'Amygdala' and are experienced by the wearer when interacting with the pieces of jewellery. 

Amygdala is the central processing station in the brain for emotions and examining it was the natural starting point for this work. The almond shape is a central form and was adopted reflecting the literal meaning of the word in Latin. Microscopic imagery of the amygdala in action were used to create abstracted patterns which form the basis of the moveable objects in the body of the work.
